DrDoGood is rising as a beacon of innovation since beginning operations in June of 2024.

In a rapidly evolving world, access to quality healthcare remains a fundamental yet often elusive right. In Ghana, where geographical barriers, long wait times, and information asymmetry pose significant challenges to healthcare delivery. DrDoGood is rising as a beacon of innovation since beginning operations in June of 2024.

Imagine Ama, a busy market trader in Kumasi, suddenly experiencing a worrying rash. Previously, her options would have been limited: a potentially costly and time-consuming journey to the nearest clinic, or relying on anecdotal advice. Today, with DrDoGood, Ama can access a verified doctor through her phone, describe her symptoms, and receive treatment — all from the comfort of her home.

“We understand that solving today’s healthcare challenges requires more than just connecting patients with doctors, it demands a holistic ecosystem encompassing accessible information, preventative care, seamless access to facilities, and collaborative partnerships.”
Khadijah Tordman, CEO — DrDoGood Health

Since its launch, The company has rapidly become a vital link in Ghana’s healthcare ecosystem. With 16,000 active users, the platform has facilitated over 4,000 doctor consultations, connecting individuals like Ama with a network of over 50 diverse healthcare facilities, 200 qualified doctors and access to critical health information. These numbers represent thousands of Ghanaians receiving timely medical attention, informed health decisions, and a sense of empowerment over their well-being.

Partnerships with diagnostic service provider SynLab, reproductive health champions Marie Stopes, and innovative biotech company Yemaachi Biotech are expanding the platform’s capabilities, offering users seamless access to a wider range of diagnostic tests, family planning services, and cutting-edge health innovations. Furthermore, Dr. DoGood has actively engaged in community-focused health outreaches, notably partnering with Yango Ghana to provide complimentary health checks for their fleet of motorbike riders.

“These collaborations demonstrate our understanding of the interconnectedness of the healthcare ecosystem and our commitment to build a robust and accessible network for all.”
Klenam Fiadzoe, Partnerships lead — DrDoGood

The platform serves as a comprehensive health and wellness hub, offering users access to reliable health information, promoting preventive care, and streamlining access to healthcare facilities. This proactive approach is crucial in a nation striving to build a healthier future.

The impact of DrDoGood resonates deeply with the challenges many countries currently face in Sub-Saharan Africa:

  • Bridging the Accessibility Gap: leveraging mobile technology to breaking geographical barriers, bringing healthcare services to even the most remote communities. Ama in Kumasi is just one example of how the platform democratizes access to medical expertise.

  • Reducing the Burden on Healthcare Facilities: The 4,000 completed consultations represent a significant reduction in the strain on physical clinics and hospitals, allowing healthcare professionals to focus on more critical cases. This a crucial efficiency in a system with limited resources.

  • Empowering Informed Health Decisions: Access to verified health and wellness information empowers individuals to take proactive steps towards their well-being, potentially preventing illnesses and reducing the need for more intensive interventions.

  • Boosting Workplace Productivity: By providing businesses with accessible healthcare plans, DrDoGood contributes to a healthier workforce, and increasing overall productivity — a vital engine for economic growth.

Driven by innovation, Dr. DoGood is charting a course towards a brighter, healthier future for Ghana, impacting lives through accessible consultations, vital information, and a focus on workforce health.
